Inventory Manager is A fairly simple inventory management system with check in / check out functionality, and bar code field (working with most typical bar code scanners), with a couple reports to find out what's currently checked out, and also to see all check out history, the ability to automatically backup the database on exit, stay up to date with the latest version, checking for updates from within the application.

Things to note:
** SQLServer Express 2005 (min SP4) with default SQLEXPRESS instance must be installed. **

Inventory Manager does not create an instance. the database is it's own file that stays in the installation folder, however it uses SQLServer Express 2005 for the functionality to read and write to the database file

Registered users get these great features:
- Ability to export reports to Excel
- Email notifications about major updates including important bug fixes.
- Ability to backup the database automatically when you close the program - even to mapped drive to another computer.
- Ability to check for updates from within the app, including automatically when the program starts
- Ability to disable the Item "Cost" field - get rid of those pesky 0.00's in your Check Out reports if you don't use them!
- Ability to disable images for items.
- Ability to disable Permanent Checkout option for items.

The caveat being that there are limitations to the non-registered version – the functionality to automatically backup the database on exit, and automatically check for updates from inside the app are disabled. Additionally, there is a 10 second ‘nag’ screen when you launch the unregistered copy. Business use of any kind must register the software in order to be properly licensed.
